Bacanora, alcohol for the brave ones

Beverage production is developed according to the region and the altitude, which are elements that emphasize the predominant type of flora, such as the Sonora highlight special wild plants Lechuguilla with the liquor of «Bacanora» , famous for its unique flavor.

The distillate Bacanora is native of Sonora, Mexico, and it’s characteristics are that is colorless and hard (really hard) and, like mezcal , it is prepared from the plant Agave. Most of the production of this drink is made in native populations from northwest Mexico as Sahuaripa, Arivechi, Cumpas, Huásabas, Moctezuma, San Pedro de la Cueva and Tepache form the state of Sonora, and prepared in a way that still is considered a craftsmanship.

Unfortunately, there are initiatives to change this mode of production to more industrial and competitive standards, due to the marked increase in both domestic and external demand in recent years. Bacanora is also a designation of origin guaranteed to international commercial organizations , like tequila.
